David Shrigley - Recent Prints
Verdict: Etchings, woodcuts, screenprint
Art Exhibition

The exhibition is split over three galleries. Gallery 1 is a portfolio collection of 16 etchings, black and white, 38.5cm x 27.5 cm, all of which are untitled.
Featured objects include an open mic, a dustpan and brush, and there is humour. One has 3 stick-figures: one is over-sized - perhaps representing God - one on its knees praying, one standing behind the kneeling figure.
Two galleries upstairs display 22 woodcuts. Subjects include a witch's hat, a bottle of poison, a white carrot. One woodcut has just SH on it. Perhaps this stands for David Shrigley. Or a SHrug of incomprehension? Or - if not a David Shrigley fan, and bad-mannered - SHite?
Artist and film-maker David Shrigley has a cult following. Non-members may ask why, find nothing here, and mutter quietly abouts kids scribbling and the emperor's clothes. But for members of the club, he's an icon. This exhibition could be one for them.
