Verdict: Honesty or people?

The odd things we do to live with others and keep the peace seem obvious once Reginald D Hunter has created comedy from them. This is serious comedy with a hard edge about how we make bargains throughout our lives. He takes the audience to where they don't want to go - but they come out smiling or with uncontrollable laughter.

Reginald D Hunter is at the very top of what's possible in standup, and in complete control of his material. He has an instant rapport with the audience. Whether he talks of black racism, the size of women, or how susceptible we are to almost anything, his conversation goes to many places. Somehow it all works.

Blasphemy, the Jews and his own father selling sex all get a mention. The conclusion is we must chose 'honesty' or 'people'. He's chosen people because if 'it just sounds true, it ain't true'. Next year he threatens to return with a show called The Loch Ness Monster and Niggas with a guitar-playing glove puppet.
