Willis - RadioHead

Verdict: Music, masturbation and curses

Edinburgh 06 - Edinburgh Comedy Room - 6-28 August 06 - 15:00 (1:00)

www.danwillis.net

Dan Willis says that music has had a big impact on his life. It's made him feel better in crises, reminded him of past relationships, and incited jealousy of his family contemporaries - all of whom sing well.

He plays tracks - the first audience member to recognise a track wins a Kinder Egg. Today's audience is suffering from it being a Monday, and not quick on the uptake. Dan Willis keeps the energy high, and the banter light and friendly - but today clearly isn't his most successful gig.

Material includes: flying, working in comedy, Judge Dredd, blowjob heaven, masturbation - and the performer's focused fandom of various bands now not so cool. Dan Willis does his best to curse a celebrity of the audience's choice with a gag that apparently caused Kylie Minogue's cancer and Madonna's riding accident. Paris Hilton is apparently the most popular choice in the Edinburgh run.

Keeping to the theme, the show ends on a song - apparently a different song each day. Today it's Underworld's Born Slippy - which leads to a story of Amsterdam, hire bikes, and laid-back police.

Dan Willis's Radiohead is a good show. On the basis of today's show, it's in a slot too early to get the consistent laughs it deserves.
