Verdict: Gentle sit-down comedy
Stand-up comedians sit down and tell tales from their own experience in the intimate and friendly setting of the Canons' Gait cellar bar.
Andrew J Lederer starts the stories and introduces today's host - Sarah Bennetto from Amused Moose. She recalls items from her life including a sad saga of student radio.
Andy O'Fiesh tells what happened to him in the Reno Hilton. Paul Betney's story includes Liverpool and Hitler. Andrew J Lederer, a New York Jew, tells a Hitler story of his own.
Andrew J Lederer devised the format. It is gentle, non-threatening comedy - both for the audience and performers. There is no pressure on the comedians to produce laughs, as they do in their stand-up sets.
The performers take a conversational style, using their considerable comedic skills to highlight significant personal events in ways that are interesting and funny.
