Evidence for the Existence of Borrowers

Verdict: Life under the floorboards

Edinburgh 05 - Theatre Workshop - 22-27 August - 14:00 (1:00)

London - Battersea Arts Centre - 5-21 Oct 04 - 20:30

The Borrowers - based on Mary Norton's book of the same name - are little people who live under the floorboards and re-cycle unwanted objects that are no longer useful to human beings (referred to as human beans).

Kazuko Hohki has created Borrowers International Network (BIN) to disseminate information about The Borrowers' lifestyle. The show is conducted in groups of 14. It includes an introductory video about The Borrowers and an education room of BINobjects. It ends with a small concert in the loft played on BINstruments - which are for sale.

Kazuko Hohki and Andy Cox and their team deliver this performance with delightful conviction. One can lose oneself for an hour in their world and feel a better person at the end. After all, their slogan is 'Happiness for Everyone'.
