Eddie's Sticky End
Verdict: Werewolf comedy
London - 2003
There's a werewolf loose in London's Muswell Hill - maybe. The moon's full, and the contents of Eddie Smallcock's fridge are disappearing. Can Pandora get down to solving the mystery?
Debauched and shifty psychiatrist Dr Ian Steamchugger examines nutters with professional contempt, while his randy associate Mrs Heliotrope strokes their nipples. There's a madman dressed as a Dalek. And there's Eddie Smallcock.
Eddie's sure he's a werewolf - his girlfriend Pandora's dismissive. Dr Steamchugger wants a tete-a-tete with Pandora, and Mrs Heliotrope's bursting for a wee. It's all heading towards a bloody climax.
Jason Attar brings a fine range of expressions to Dr Ian Steamchugger. Mark Felgate's a hapless and endearing Eddie Smallcock. Charlie Lemmer's a raunchy Mrs Heliotrope, packed with barely-contained lust. James Love's a worryingly believable Dalek. Lizzie Roper, with plunging decolletage, is a delightfully femme-fatale-ish Pandora (and a treat in the post-credit end-piece).
Eddie's Sticky End is shot in black-and-white. It's always flawlessly lit, and the photography is a real joy - both by Pete Rowe. Story and direction by Martin Gooch.
