Lizzie Roper in
Through My Keyhole
Verdict: Funny, warm and filthy
Edinburgh - Gilded Balloon Teviot - August 03 - 18.45 (1 hour)
Here's naughty Lizzie Roper as herself, and a set of even naughtier characters. As ever, Lizzie's pushing the limit of taste and decency well into the red zone - and wonderfully funny it is too. Her new scheme for dressing her ex-boyfriend's er part in Barbie costumes can be seen (for the over-18s and not easily offended) at one of the show's websites,(http://www.cockinafrock.com).
Meet Lady Agatha Bagshawe, highly disturbed aristocrat. Meet dangerous farmer Mrs Ruddy, her unusual rural habits, and her blood-curdling favourite song, Kill The Pig - a homely UK version of Deliverance. Meet the cross-dressing member of ex-boyfriend Adrian Pitt age 52. Meet Hilary Sneddings, Trisha Pendle, and Joanna Fanshawe.
Most of all, meet Lizzy herself, or at least her stage persona. Lizzy Roper's world is rude - by way of understatement - funny, warm and welcoming. A real comic talent, an engaging and funny show.
Through My Keyhole's kept in sharp focus by the expert direction of Leisa Rea.
Credits Lizzie Roper (Lady Agatha Bagshawe, Mrs Ruddy, Hilary Sneddings, Trisha Pendle, Joanna Fanshawe). Director - Leisa Rea
